Morgan Stanley: Building a Tax Efficient Portfolio with Active ETFs

Anthony Rochte is a Managing Director and Global Head of Exchange-Traded Funds at Morgan Stanley Investment Management.  Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Anthony was Co-Head of Goldman Sachs Private Bank Select. He previously held several senior roles at Fidelity Investments including Head of Fidelity Institutional Investments and Technology Solutions and President of Fidelity SelectCo.  During his tenure at the firm, he was responsible for building and leading Fidelity’s ETF business from inception.  He also served as Head of the Intermediary Business Group within the State Street Global Advisors SPDR ETF business. Earlier in his career, he was one of the initial hires in the Barclays Global Investors iShares ETF business where he served in several leadership positions.   Anthony holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Indiana University.

Ally Wallace is a Managing Director and Global Head of Capital Markets for MSIM’s ETF business.  Prior to joining MSIM in 2022, Ally spent 13 years at BlackRock in the iShares division overseeing the ETF Markets Ecosystem and Platform development.  A platform that grew from $300B to $2.3T during her tenure, and expanded across asset classes and geographies.  In her time at BlackRock, she served as the Co-Head of ETF Global Markets Americas, and most recently was the Global Head of Fixed Income Product Architecture & Platform for iShares.  Ally joined BlackRock from Morgan Stanley’s Institutional Equity Division where she was an equity sales-trader.  She began her career at Deutsche Bank in the Global Markets Fixed Income Division.  Ally holds a B.A in history from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from the University of California’s Haas School of Business.
